Boxing Day: History & Origin

Boxing Day is traditionally celebrated on 26 December, the day after Christmas Day, which is also called St. Stephen's Day, a Christian holiday. St Stephen was a little known Saint who achieved eternal fame by being the first Christian to be martyred for his faith by being stoned to death shortly after Christ's crucifixion.

The tradition of Boxing Day has long included giving money and other gifts to those who were needy and in service positions.
